According to reports, she personally invited him to attend the Fashion’s Night Out show at Lincoln Center last night, and word is he'll join editor-at-large Hamish Bowles at the Tommy Hilfiger runway show on Sunday. Wintour took quite a bit of heat the last time she featured a basketball player on a cover. Remember she made Lebron James look like King Kong, while standing next to Gisele Bundchen for their April 2008 cover. She, as well as photographer Annie Liebovitz we accused of perpetuating the 'scary black man' stereotype. In light of that, I'm sure they've wisened up and I'm anxious to see the result. There have only been three (James and actors George Clooney and Richard Gere) in the magazine’s history.
Back in September when Anna Wintour's guest at Tommy Hilfiger was New York Knick Amar'e Stoudemire. When asked if Vogue has offered him a cover yet (as rumored) he laughed, but then said, “It’s possible.” He likes Anna. “It was great hanging out with her, man. She’s a beautiful person. Stay tuned”
