FEATURE| The Fashion Editor Face-Off

Fashion month has come to a close and every fashion-lover is now up to date with what colours should be embraced for summer (white) and the new heel height (what heels? Did you see those Lanvin flats?). The catwalks aside there were some off schedule shows on the streets featuring some of the best dressed editors in town!
Two groups of editors in particular have been astounding the photogs and are pure style inspiration for every well-dressed individual: the continuously glamorous Italians and the well-established Americans. Italian editors Anna Dello Russo and Giovanna Battaglia are battling against the Yanks, Kate Lanphear and Taylor Tomasi-Hill. Each camp has been out-dressing all the competition no matter the time-zone, but who will reign triumphant in the battle of the show-stealers? You decide!
The Italians
Quirky Queen: Giovanna Battaglia
Position: L’Uomo Vogue, Fashion Editor
Known for: Clashing colours, spindly heels and dating Carine’s son Vladmir (Roitfeld)
Stand out fashion week look:  Italian goes slightly Japanese harajuku girl in to canary yellow knit and printed skirt complete with knee high boots.
Why we loved it: Kooky yet classy.

Gaga of Fashion: Anna Dello Russo
Position: Fashion Editor at Large, Vogue Nippon (Japanese)
Known for: Glamour, glamour, glamour.
Stand out fashion week look:  Miu Miu mini dress at London Fashion Week.
Why we loved it: Anna is no shrinking violet and loves to make over the top statements with her clothes, but this all black number proved she could still be a stunner in something a little more restrained.

The Americans
Punk Couture Queen: Kate Lanphear
Position: US Elle, Senior Style Director
Known for: Grown up rocker style and penchant for Wang
Stand out fashion week look: The Azzedine Alaia dress paired with a waist cinching Alaia belt.
Why we loved it: Uncharacteristically feminine for Ms Lanphear, but we loved the fact she still managed to give it her signature (adult-emo) twist.

Cool Cat: Taylor Tomasi-Hill
Position: US Marie Claire, Style and Accessories Director
Known for: Flame coloured hair and being generally too cool, even for planet fash, and those Linda Farrow cat shaped sunnies.
Stand out fashion week look: The Alexander McQueen bustier over a t-shirt and jeans. Genius.
Why we loved it: Taking the lingerie as outer wear summer trend and making it appealing even if it was slightly erring on the side of S&M.
